Recball, Our Destiny
It is our destiny to bring Recball to the forefront of society. We must weather the scrutiny and glazed over looks that are being sent our way and stand tall in our BDUs, be them forest camo, desert, or the awe-inspiring digital. We must set forth to maintain a strong presence and never let the wavering hand of wipers enter our game. We must uphold the honor and integrity of those who have gone before us and continue to pave the way for more fun to be had than any could with an inflatable bunker.
Brightly colored uniforms, flashy thousand dollar markers and a field that is limited by plastic, these are not the tools of the woodsballer,
these are for the individuals who escape into a realm of cushy things to run into when it is muddy and they cannot stop, for those who can afford to lay down a case of paint an hour, for those in it for the instant gratification.
Nay, that is not for us, give us your rain slicked wilderness, give us your hastily built fort, the shrubberies and tall grasses to hide in, give us that whistle blow which signals we are no longer accountants, electricians, guardians of sacred rooms filled with expensive booze, writers, computer geeks, moms, daughters, sons and fathers.
We are now a team, practiced and experienced in the art of flushing out our enemy, we are now the guardians of our precious flag, snipers and scouts, medics and generals, we band together and enter into a scenario that may last the whole day, and into the night depending on the field. We each have a role to fill, a single shot to make and a 'bang your dead' to yell.
We harbor no ill will towards our brothers in speedball, we applaud how far your sport has come and we keep in our minds that with their popularity our siblings in speedball pay a higher price for their sport. We in scenario ball have learned the great skills of improvisation; we can take any terrain and climate and make it our battle zone. Though we are the lesser known of our brethren paintball players we harbor no ill will while we humbly await our rise and band together to form an unbreakable bond, that which no wiper can break.
So why, you ask is it always about Speedball? Because my friends, speedball is fast and can be over before the commercial break, its concept is easy to learn and to follow and to watch. With Scenario ball, it’s 100 acres of adrenaline pumping giving and receiving orders, finding the enemy hiding in the brush, seizing a fort, dashing across an open bridge and wondering where the hell you are, how far are you from that base, is that a friend or foe? And then you hear the rumble of a tank or the plane over head, shouts of ‘hit, I’m out!’ and the four extra shots pelt that player because, well, it happens and you weren’t sure if your first one would hit.
